Five weeks into my fellowship at WFYI, I have been able to improve my reporting skills as well as pick up new ones. In particular, I have learned how different broadcasting can be from digital and print media. The fellowship has allowed me to get published on WFYI’s website as well as understand how to write spots, readers, and voicers for broadcast. In addition, I have analyzed data sets and used them for digital storytelling.
Finally, I am glad to been able to network and make meaningful connections with other journalists. Overall, I am grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to see what the next few weeks have in store for me.
